Description

Prunus avium ‘Early Rivers’ is called “Early” as it’s the earliest black cherry to ripen. Not only is it early, but the tree crops heavily and its delicious cherries have very small stones. The tree was grown from a seedling of Early Purple Gean by Thomas River; confusingly we’ve also heard it called the Kentish Cherry. Self-fertile. Like all cherry trees, its attractive spring blossom is helpful for a range of pollinators including bees.
